What I’m loving this week:

And just like that, we’re headed into the first weekend of May. Here in New England, we’ve had a few sunny days.., not nearly enough if you ask me. I just checked the weather, and tomorrow is going to be 44 degrees, cloudy, and windy. Ugh, patience isn’t one of my strong suites. But, with another Friday, comes another Friday in five post! Today, I’ve rounded up some of the things I’ve been loving this week. Enjoy!
Beauty
I cannot express how much I looove going make up-free every day. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love to cake my face. But, I’ve never gone on a real beauty break before. And, I never knew how nice it was. Like, to be able to take a spontaneous nap without having to worry about leaving a print of my face on the pillow? It’s a dream!
I’ve been really making an effort to focus on my skincare a little more, too. I’m using my makeup free days to let my skin thrive and start working to correct some of my problem areas (i.e. redness and dark spots). I’ve been using my niacinamide and lactic acid serums non-stop to help give my skin an extra boost. I’ve definitely stated to seen some results.

Home
Now that spring has arrived and we are headed towards summer, Jake and I are focusing all of our home renovation effort on our yard. We have a decent sized yard, but it is kinda a hot mess. We bought our house from a real estate developer who flipped the house. Before they worked their magic, our neighbors told us that this place was a little grungy and the yard totally over grown.
We are trying to piece everything together and come up with a game plan. One of our biggest issues is that there are plants and flowers growing EVERYWHERE-just random purple flowers growing in the middle of the lawn? It’s interesting to say the least. Right now I’m playing the waiting game to see what blooms and determine what we will relocate and what we will just get rid of.
I’ll be sharing a little more about some of our outdoor projects next week!
Sips + Sweets
I’ve got three words for you: vegan blueberry cones. These are perfect with my morning cup of coffee. I love having a baked good in the morning. I don’t know why, but having a muffin, bagel, or scone in the morning keeps me full until lunchtime. Replacing my sugar loaded muffin with these simple, vegan scones was a no brainer.
Here is the recipe I use: https://www.godairyfree.org/recipes/vegan-wild-blueberry-scones
Style
Ever since I can remember, I’ve lived by my own rule that I will only wear a dress when the temperature hits over 60 degrees. Of course, that was before I started to wear tights. But, for sun dresses I follow my strict 60 degree rule. And, let me tell you. I check the temp. every day in hopes I can break one out.
Here are some of my favorite sun dresses I’ve had my eye on. I’ll also be sharing even more summer fashion picks in upcoming post!

Wild Card
I’ve been trying to use my time at home to get back to the basics and start picking up old hobbies that I’ve put on the back burner because I’m just too busy. One of those hobbies was painting. From acrylics to watercolor, I love to break out my brushes and spend hours creating.
Though my brushed are still packed away somewhere in a box (ugh, moving), I’ve been using my IPad and Apple Pencil instead. I’ve tried a few, but my favorite app is Procreate. Procreate is just $9.99 to download for the Ipad and $4.99 for the IPhone version. The best part is, you never have to renew anything. When they come out with new features, you simply just update the app. Crazy, right? Maybe one day I’ll share some of my drawings?

I love makeup-free days as well *-* My skin actually improved a lot during quarantine and I think I’m going to use less makeup in the future 😀
